Pro-ACT® Recertification

Only those Pro-ACT® In-service instructors who have maintained their certifications for three consecutive years according to the guidelines in Appendix B of the Pro-ACT® In-service Instructor’s manual and Pro-ACT® In-service Instructor’s Restraint Certification manual are eligible for Recertification training.

Because only certified instructors are eligible to attend re-certification training, participants are provided with an opportunity to collaboratively improve their understanding and presentation of Pro-ACT® principles while enhancing strategies for teaching.

Recertification Course Objectives

The Pro-ACT® recertification process is designed to provide:

  • Support for currently certified Pro-ACT® In-service Instructors
  • Clarification of Pro-ACT® principles and the application of principles
  • Competence building for currently certified Pro-ACT® In-service Instructors
  • Sharing of teaching strategies with others currently teaching the material
  • Feedback to the authors of the Pro-ACT® material for consideration during rewrites and updates
  • Assurance for organizations using Pro-ACT® and for licensing bodies of a Pro-ACT, Inc. commitment to excellence through on-going skill building opportunities

Pro-ACT® In-service Instructor Re-certification

Participation in a Pro-ACT® In-service Instructor Recertification course is dependent upon eligibility. To be eligible, an In-service Instructor must have maintained his or her certification for three consecutive years based on the guidelines in Appendix B of the Pro-ACT® In-service Instructor’s manuals.

Because only certified instructors are eligible to attend re-certification training, participants are provided with an opportunity to collaboratively improve their understanding and presentation of Pro-ACT® principles while enhancing strategies for teaching.

The In-service Instructor Recertification class is a two-day class that reviews all of the Pro-ACT® principles including course content and evasion exercises.

Pro-ACT® In-service Instructor Restraint Re-certification

The In-service Instructor Restraint Recertification class is a half-day class that reviews all of the Pro-ACT® Restraint principles including course content and physical demonstrations.
